Power Tynan has always had a strong focus on community involvement. The firm’s Charitable Trust has provided more than $100,000 to not-for-profit community organisations over the past five years. Staff are also involved in a number of fund-raising activities such as the annual “Hang Ya Boss Out To Dry” event.
Commitment to community broadens to a personal level as staff members give some of their precious time away from the office to support a range of community organisations and activities. Executive Director Philip Saal says: “We are committed to our community and, as such, will continually provide support as we constantly give back in many ways. We encourage our team members to become involved with community organisations of their choice.”
With a strong interest in fitness and sport throughout the firm, it is not surprising that sporting groups feature prominently in the list of community organisations supported. A number of staff volunteer as treasurers or committee members in sports associations and clubs.
School activities also rank strongly as most staff have young children, so they give their time to Parents and Friends groups.
The groups we support include TGS P&F, Fairholme Foundation, Stanthorpe Zonta Club, S.I.L.A. Inc, Stanthorpe YMCA, That Dam Ride (an annual charity bike ride), Stanthorpe Australia Day Triathlon, Glennie Foundation, Highfields Community Sports Centre, Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club, NFP Summerfruit Australia, Rangeville State School P&C Association, Toowoomba Dominoes Netball Club, Stanthorpe United Football Club, Ballandean Football Club, Australian Small Winemakers, Stanthorpe Sports Association, St Josephs P & F, University of Southern Queensland advisory board, Downlands College and the Catholic Diocesan Education Board.
“We encourage our team members to become involved with community organisations of their choice.”
