
Jana McCartney brings over 14 years of experience in human resources and recruitment across private, government and not-for-profit sectors to her role at Power Tynan. She comes with expertise in employee and industrial relations, recruitment, HR compliance and strategic thinking. Jana is also passionate about building a thriving workplace culture.
Armed with a Bachelor of Social Science and a Certificate IV in Human Resource Management, Jana is dedicated to staying ahead of industry trends and legislative changes. Most recently, she completed a short course on HR Law, focusing on updates to the Fair Work Act to ensure compliance and best practices in all her work.
Jana thrives on empowering Power Tynan team members to reach their full potential, believing that engaged and supported employees deliver exceptional client outcomes. Her focus is on fostering innovation, driving professional development and creating meaningful employment experiences that inspire teams to succeed.
Jana’s HR journey began during a working holiday in London, where she found her passion for the field while working for a major engineering company. Upon returning to Australia, she pursued further qualifications and has since built a fulfilling career centered on continuous learning and impactful leadership. She credits her early inspiration to an extraordinary mentor who demonstrated the transformative role HR can play in an organisation.
Outside of work, Jana enjoys spending time on home renovation projects and gardening, with plenty of outdoor projects always on the go. Her dream is to one day rent a motorhome and explore the stunning national parks of Canada and the US.
