Your 2022 Strategic Sights

Whether you’re already in business or are thinking about it, it’s likely that everyone has told you that you need a business plan or a strategic plan.

So, now you’re wondering: what does this mean for me? Is it too much for my type of business? How do I get started if I need one? How much does it cost, and will I even use it? How do you conquer all these questions racing through your mind whenever you hear the phrase ‘strategic plan’?

Let’s start off simply: it can be as much or as little as you and your business needs. Essentially what you’re trying to achieve is for your business to make a profit and help you achieve your life goals. How do you do that? Simple - you make sure you do whatever it is that you do better than anyone else:

1. Define your competitive advantage.
What do you think it is currently? What do you want it to be? These are critical questions as everything else you do will be centered around these answers. If you have this focus, business decisions will become easier and clearer. Once you have worked this out, or if you’re struggling to, have a look at the Growth and Profit Diagnostic or Strategic Planning Diagnostic to help you align your focus and begin strategising.

2. Ensure you can develop strategies for:
• Marketing;
• Day-to-day operations and core processes ;
• Innovation, changes within the business;
• People, capability and capacity; and
• Finance - are we investor ready, or what do we need to make sure our cashflow is right?

The above areas all need to support your competitive advantage and ensure you’re heading in the right direction. Remember, the marketing strategy drives your business operations, and the operations are supported by having a great innovation, people and finance strategy.

Sounds pretty simple, right? Don’t worry, we know it’s not!
You may need a conversation to help get the necessary information out of your head, articulated and into a clear format. This will benefit team communication and allows everyone to work in one direction.

If this sounds like you, here’s how we can help:
• A one-on-one session with you and your team to help collate your thoughts and ideas;
• Follow-up sessions to help you with accountability and ensure you’re making the right changes to achieve your competitive advantage;
• The Power Tynan Growth Club. Members meets quarterly with monthly coaching in between, allowing you to work alongside a like-minded group of peers working through similar issues.

Every business needs a plan and a competitive advantage, so let us work with you to ensure your strategy can make your goals and dreams a reality!
