New South Wales Special Disaster Assistance for Primary Producers

The New South Wales Government has released assistance for New South Wales primary producers recovering following the Rainfall and Flooding event from February 2022 onwards.

Eligibility

To be able to access this grant funding, the business must:
1. Be a primary producer who draws at least 50% of your gross income from your primary production enterprise;
2. Have an active Australian Business Number (ABN);
3. Have a primary production business located within one of the following disaster areas and have suffered direct damage as result of the disaster:

• Armidale
• Ballina
• Bellingen
• Byron
• Clearance Valley
• Coffs Harbour
• Glen Innes Severn
• Hornsby
• Kempsey
• Kyogle
• Lismore
• Nambucca
• Port Macquarie/Hastings
• Richmond Valley
• Tenterfield
• The Hills
• Tweed
• Bayside
• Bega Valley
• Blacktown
• Blue Mountains
• Camden
• Campbeltown
• Canterbury Bankstown
• Central Coast
• Eurobodalla
• Fairfield City
• Georges River
• Hawkesbury
• Inner West
• Kiama
• Ku-ring-gai
• Liverpool
• MidCoast
• Newcastle
• Northern Beaches
• Paramatta
• Penrith
• Ryde
• Shellharbour
• Shoalhaven
• Sutherland
• Wingecarribee
• Wollondilly
• Wollongong

4. Intend to re-establish the primary production business in the disaster area.

This grant can assist impacted primary production enterprise with the following:
• Help pay for the costs of clean up, reinstatement activities and emergency measures associated with the immediate recovery of your primary production enterprise;
• Hire or lease equipment or materials to clean premises, property, or equipment;
• Remove and dispose of debris, damaged goods or materials including injured or dead livestock;
• Repair or replace fencing and/or other essential property infrastructure;
• Purchase and transport fodder or feed for livestock;
• Replace livestock;
• Replace lost or damaged plants, salvage crops, repair or restore fields;
• Repair, recondition or replace essential plant or equipment;
• Maintain the health of livestock;
• Pay additional wages to an employee to assist with clean-up work;
• Repair buildings (except dwellings that are used for staff accommodation).

Eligible applicants can access up to $75,000 in assistance via two payments:

1. An initial amount of up to $15,000 is available to support. Photographs, quotations, tax invoices and official receipts are required to support the initial application; and

2. An amount of up to $60,000 is available to support subsequent claims when full evidence of payment is provided.


Applications for the grant close 4-6 September 2022.
