Business Boost Grants Program - Round 2

The Business Basics grant program provides support to businesses to advance improvements in efficiency and productivity and will pay a maximum of $15,000 (excluding GST).


To be eligible for this grant your business must:

  • Have fewer than 20 employees at the time of applying for the grant
  • Have an active Australian Business (ABN) and be registered for GST
  • Have a Queensland headquarters
  • Have a turnover between $300,000 (minimum) and $600,000 (maximum) in the last financial year (2021-22)
  • Have a publicly reachable web presence to identify business operations
  • Not have been approved for funding within Business Boost grant under Round 1
  • Not be insolvent

This support includes funded activities in 3 project areas:

1. Future Planning including but not limited to the following:

  • Strategic business planning for innovation or growth
  • Implementing a governance board to guide strategic planning
  • Exporting opportunities and requirements
  • Compliance with industry regulations and standards

2. Specialised and automated software including the following:

  • Design and implantation of management systems such as:
    • Data warehouse
    • Asset management
    • Customer Relationship Management systems
    • Risk management
    • Production systems
    • Project management systems
    • Quality & compliance management
  • Bespoke/Complex website design or application design and build including:
    • E-commerce • Software integration
    • Booking systems
    • Cybersecurity tools
    • Webinar/conferencing
    • Customer accounts/logins
    • Paywalls

3. Staff management, development, and planning

  • Human Resource Management skills building
  • Professional Development and Training
  • Digital workplace plans and systems for a remote workforce

Application process

Stage 1 – Preparation of form to record your registration of interest. This will be available from 9am, Friday 12 August 2022 and will close at Midnight on Friday 19 August 2022.

Stage 2 – From ballet, businesses will be selected to complete the full application whereby applicants will be asked to complete an application which will show how their project will:

  • Meet the program outcomes including:
    • Boost turnover, profit, and employment
    • Increase business confidence and skills
    • Improve business resilience and survivability
  • Positively impact revenue growth and gross profit
  • Be likely to create jobs within the business; and
  • Demonstrate value for money.

Upon completion of your proposed project, you may be eligible to receive grant funding between $7,500 and $15,000 (excluding GST), depending on the cost of your project. Successful applicants are required to contribute at least 30% of funding towards the total project costs. Grant funding will be paid only after compliant acquittal documentation is received.
