The Business Basics grant program provides support to businesses to advance improvements in efficiency and productivity and will pay between $10,000 and $20,000 (excluding GST).
To be eligible for this grant your business must:
- Small businesses with 2-19 employees (headcount)
- Have an active Australian Business (ABN) and be registered for GST
- Have a Queensland headquarters
- Be established and financially sound, experiencing growth and with a minimum turnover of $300,000 in the last financial year (2022-2023)
- Have a publicly reachable web presence to identify business operations
- Not have been approved for funding within Business Boost grant under Round 1
- Not be insolvent or have owners/directors that are undischarged bankrupt.
This support includes funded activities in 3 project areas:
- Future Planning including but not limited to the following:
- Strategic business planning for innovation or growth
- Implementing a governance board to guide strategic planning
- Identifying and capitalising on export opportunities while adhering to requirements.
- Compliance with industry regulations and standards, including sustainability.
- Specialised and automated software including the following:
- Design and implantation of sophisticated cloud platforms, online management systems and/or applications including:
- Artificial intelligence systems (eg AI Chatbots)
- Customer relationship management systems
- Cybersecurity tools
- Data warehouse
- Production systems
- Software integration (including specialised software subscriptions)
- Quality & compliance and risk management systems
- Design and implantation of sophisticated cloud platforms, online management systems and/or applications including:
- Planning and systems for staff management and development
- Strategic human resource management fostering skills development, robus recruitment strategies, and seamless onboarding for new personnel.
- Professional development through targeted transitional training and initiatives
- Employee performance management frameworks and evaluation systems.
Application process:
Stage 1 – Preparation of form to record your registration of interest. This will be available from 9am, Wednesday 6 September 2023 and will close at 5pm on Tuesday 12 September 2023.
Stage 2 – From ballot, businesses will be selected to complete the full application on Wednesday 20 September 2023 whereby applicants will be asked to complete an application which will show how their project will:
- Boost turnover, profit, and employment;
- Increase business confidence and skills; and
- Improve business resilience and survivability
- Demonstrate value for money.
Upon completion of your proposed project, you may be eligible to receive grant funding between $10,000 and $20,000 (excluding GST), depending on the cost of your project. Successful applicants are required to contribute at least 50% of funding towards the total project costs. Grant funding will be paid only after compliant acquittal documentation is received.
